Various iconic objects from a television set have been placed in the courtyard of Via Brera 5. Cameras, screens, and lights are the elements to recognise to feel part of an imaginary world that has its roots in the years of the economic Boom, when the carousel advertised the best products of the emerging Italian Design and Raffaella Carrà’s jingles were all the rage on television.

The setup was designed to enhance Italian Echoes, the project to reissue the iconic lamps from the iGuzzini historical archive.

For the reissue of the Polsino lamps by Gio Ponti, Zurigo by Luigi Massoni, Nitia by Rodolfo Bonetto, and Sorella by Harvey iGuzzini, a wooden base was specifically created to symbolise the company’s Design roots and the timeless propulsive force that the first examples of iGuzzini production still emit.

L’allestimento, oltre a rievocare gli esordi di iGuzzini e a recuperare i pezzi storici della collezione, racconta la complessità dei nuovi progetti, definendo uno spazio che fa a meno delle lampade, ma è animato dalla presenza energizzante della luce.

“The installation in Brera is the construction of a puzzle that each visitor is called to decipher. Once the contents and issues of a project are put together, I feel the need to exhibit them in a way that remains open and undefined. The setup for Re-Future wants to be a means capable of activating the imagination of a backstage where past, present, and future history intertwine.”
