Winner of the ICONIC Awards 2024, Roma is the result of a collaboration between Alessandro Scandurra and Panzeri, a renowned lighting design brand. The form recalls the classical purity of the Doric column and is the result of an aesthetic-functional research tied to design as an Action Device, capable of evoking unexpected emotions and interactions.

The fluting of the column captures light, and it is with this light that Roma illuminates itself, challenging the relationship between natural and artificial light, between day and night. In this conceptual shift, history’s legacy transcends the notion of time. The ancient is reborn in a luminous body, a hologram resembling a column, an expressive and iconic symbol capable of defining and orienting space.

The product aims to create a conceptual and chronological bridge between classical and contemporary times: like a clock marking time through carefully designed mechanisms, Roma surpasses the very concept of time.
