FLUDD

“Fludd engages with the alchemy of light. Its form is deeply connected to the physics of diffusion and diffraction of light; it is not merely an object but a device whose simplicity makes it an almost immaterial iconic symbol.”

Winner of the Global Design Awards 2024, the FLUDD lamp represents a delicate balance between presence and absence, between light and energy shaping the environment. The LED, the technological essence and beating heart of the project, is not just a light source but a dynamic element interacting with its surroundings. The lamp evolves depending on the angle from which it is observed and its relationship with the space.

Transparency and material density combine in a play of suspended forms, ready to change. Composed of two interlocking pieces, a thin engraved plate evenly diffuses light, while a thermoformed sheet houses the light source, creating a dialogue between the abstract and the tangible.
When turned off, the lamp almost disappears, reflecting the surrounding environment. Its transparency is not emptiness but a hint of a hidden reality, a world beyond visibility, where light pulses silently within.

When turned on, the lamp becomes a suspended presence, expanding light throughout the room. It diffuses light 360 degrees, creating soft halos at the edges while maintaining a crisp outline. Every surface is designed not to obstruct but to channel light, transforming the environment into a space full of possibilities.
When suspended, the lamp makes the entire room its boundary. When mounted on the ceiling, the ceiling itself comes to life, reminiscent of a medieval window bringing light into daily life. It is not just a lighting fixture but a transformative element, enriching and reshaping space with meaning and vitality.
