A meeting point between La Scala Theatre and its city, Milan: the Bookshop of La Scala Theatre is designed and created to enhance the intimate nature of listening and viewing. Like a magic box, the small-sized space takes on different qualities with overlapping variations of light and perspective.

By dematerialising boundaries, its purpose is to enhance the content, creating an emotional setting capable of evoking the theatricality of the place.

The setup is designed to guide the visitor through a long and overwhelming musical sequence: a bookshelf serves as a background at the entrance leading to the door that enters the foyer, while a monitor accompanies those who want to reach the listening room on the lower floor.

The large reception desk overlooks the ground floor spaces that multiply in the reflections of the white glass and coloured mirrors that characterise the space.

In the simple and rigorous display hierarchy, the emotional impact of the setup comes alive. It lights up with the changing coloured lights, in harmony with the phenomenon of musical synaesthesia.
