“ Light, in outdoor spaces, always carries a dual responsibility: to illuminate and to shape atmosphere. Cryso brings together performance and decorative presence in an object designed to endure over time, with the same naturalness as the architecture that gracefully withstands the years. ”

Alessandro Scandurra

Light is one of the materials through which architecture takes shape. It defines perception, establishes relationships between people and space, gives depth to materiality, and creates experiences that endure over time.

From this vision comes Cryso, the outdoor luminaire designed by Alessandro Scandurra for iGuzzini. Conceived for hospitality, residential, and representative environments, it interprets light as an architectural presence: understated when unlit, capable of shaping atmosphere when illuminated. Its soft, carefully calibrated light enhances volumes and materials while accompanying the space with discretion, adapting to different contexts with the same perceptual quality.

With Cryso, the principles that guide the studio’s architectural approach are translated into the scale of product design.
