Alessandro Scandurra appointed Italian Design Testimonial in Lithuania

On the occasion of Italian Design Day 2025, promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), along with other key institutions such as the Milan Triennale, Salone del Mobile, and the Altagamma Foundation, Italian Ambassador to Lithuania, Emanuele de Maigret, hosted the Local Conference on 18th March at the Embassy of Italy in Vilnius to present Alessandro Scandurra as Italian Design Testimonial in Lithuania. With this nomination by Italian Design Day, Alessandro Scandurra takes on the role of promoting Italian design culture, in continuity with the ongoing international projects and partnerships of Scandurra Studio in the Baltics.


The Conference, introduced by Ambassador Emanuele de Maigret, featured a panel on this year’s Italian Design Day theme “Inequalities: design for a Better Life” with a special focus on Scandurra Studio’s NEW Neighbourhood for Educational Wonder, winning project at the international competition “Future School for Ukraine”, promoted by the Lithuanian government to support a faster and efficient reconstruction of the country. “NEW – Neighbourhood for Educational Wonder”, was awarded for its adaptability, sustainability, and quick implementation. Funded by the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Fund, the project will serve as a model for building new schools in Ukraine.
